OSM Awards 2018

OSM Awards 2018

This year marks the third anniversary of the OSM Awards, which honour particularly dedicated mappers and activists. Voting will continue until 26 July and the awards will be presented at the StateOfTheMap 2018 conference in Milan.

Every mapper can already vote at http://awards.osmz.ru!

Michael Reichert writes about this in his email on the talk-at mailing list:

Hello,

this year marks the third edition of the OSM Awards, which will be presented at State of the Map in Milan. The final round of voting began on 1 July and will continue until Friday, 26 July. Please take part and vote! Every mapper is entitled to vote. You can register and then cast your vote at http://awards.osmz.ru/. You can vote for as many candidates as you like in each category, but only for one candidate in each category (no cumulating). The candidate who has collected the most votes wins in each category. You can change your vote until the end of the voting process.

On the start page, only the English descriptions are currently visible (which is probably a bug). However, if you are logged in, you can also see the German translations for all candidates.

Until the end of May, anyone could nominate anyone as a candidate. In each category, three to four candidates have been selected. Ilya Zverev and I selected the finalists. There was not much to choose from, though, as after deducting all non-qualified suggestions, usually only three to five candidates remained.

Since I am active in the selection committee myself, I will not make any voting recommendations.

Your vote counts!

Best regards, Michael
