
OpenStreetMap at the House of Music, Vienna

December is approaching and the Christmas map needs correct data! The Xmas map shows Christmas markets, Christmas trees, Christmas tree sales points and other Christmas events with local references.
The data itself all comes from the OpenStreetMap database and can be entered there with the tags described on the XMAS-Map wiki page.
On 9 November 2018, the OpenMinds Award will be presented at the Palais Wertheim. This award honours special open-source projects in the areas of:
Open Source Software
Open Hardware
Open Data
Open Talent
Open CMS
The Open Source Ball 2018 will follow.

This year again, there is the [‘netidee’ funding pot] (https://www.netidee.at/), in which some of the projects submitted are sponsored with up to €50,000. Submissions are still possible until 17 July 2018. There are bound to be some OpenStreetMap or FOSSGIS projects that would fit in there.
The requirements for submitting a project are that all results are and remain open source or are published under a Creative Commons licence.
Since June 2016, anyone climbing the Hochschwab has been able to find a new panorama board there, which names the 40 peaks around the Hochschwab. OpenStreetMap data was used for the implementation and this is also wonderfully prominently displayed on the board!
