The time passed quickly for us and today the AGIT came to an end. Despite a short night, we started the day full of energy and were available to help visitors with our knowledge.
Markus and an enthusiastic visitor
On the last day, some visitors took OSM mugs from us in return for a small donation. We are always pleased when people are willing to support the OSM association in this way. Many thanks to the many donors.
Like yesterday, the weather was fantastically sunny again. I set off for the University of Salzburg shortly before 8 o’clock.
Andreas on his way to AGIT
After a short walk, I set about reopening the OSM & OSGeo stand.
New day for the OSM stand
There is still a small amount of QGIS Cookies left over from the day before.
OSM stand before the crowds of visitors
After yesterday’s preparation day, we didn’t have much work to do in the morning to get the stand ready for visitors.
Come to the OSM stand, we have brought a great map with us.
This year, Markus came up with something special that was very well received by the visitors:
By the end of the day, almost all 40 cockies had been eaten.
This year, Markus and I are once again representing the OpenStreetMap Association Austria at AGIT. As last year, we will try to capture our impressions for you in the form of blog entries over the next few days.
Today began with packing up the trade fair materials in the morning, then loading them into the car, driving to Salzburg and finally setting up the stand.
Unfortunately, our departure was delayed by about two hours due to a medical incident, but we were finally able to make the journey together. Despite a small handicap, Markus was able to actively support me during the construction.
The Salzburg geo-Stammtisch ‘Maptime’ is organising a Mapaton ( = joint OpenStreetMap mapping) on Wednesday, 8 May 2019!
Here is an excerpt from the original announcement from http://maptime.io/salzburg/event/2019/05/08/Mapthon/:
The next Maptime event will take place in the form of a humanitarian mapping marathon. We will work together to digitise geodata such as houses or streets using satellite images and upload them to OpenStreetMap. This data is then used by organisations such as Médecins Sans Frontières to better plan their missions. No prior knowledge is necessary for digitisation. We will provide an introduction and explain everything relevant. There will be free drinks, snacks (sponsored by Z_GIS) and music. Please bring:

An OSM-related geospatial event has been set up in Salzburg: Maptime Salzburg will be holding its first meeting on 13 November 2018! The following is the original text from the mailing list announcement:
Hello everyone, Last month we founded the ‘Maptime Salzburg’ meetup. This monthly meeting is intended to offer anyone interested in geospatial topics the opportunity to exchange ideas on topics such as geoinformatics, remote sensing, geodata or programming. The next meeting will take place on Tuesday, 13 November 2018 at 7 p.m. at Trumerei in Salzburg. As an additional activity, we want to map together for an hour at 6 p.m. The idea is to use the StreetComplete app to introduce beginners to OSM. Information about our past and future meetings can be found on our website: http://maptime.io/salzburg/ We also have an open mailing list for exchanging ideas: https://lists.fossgis.de/mailman/listinfo/maptime-salzburg
