There are many ways to support OpenStreetMap and our association – be it through your time, your expertise or a donation.

Support the association

Support OpenStreetMap Austria directly

Are you interested in actively contributing to the promotion of OpenStreetMap in Austria? Then become a member!

  • There is no official membership fee. Your membership shows your support for the association and its activities. As a member, you can vote at the general assembly and elect the board. You will become part of an active community that works together to advance projects.

This is how it works: Write an email to vorstand@openstreetmap.at with a short paragraph introducing yourself. Important: Also include your OSM username. Note: You don’t have to become a member of the association to participate in OpenStreetMap!

OpenStreetMap Austria works with a small budget that we use exclusively for our non-profit projects. You can help us with your donation:

  • Pay server costs
  • Pay transport costs for volunteers at events
  • Issue high-visibility vests for volunteers
  • Create and provide promotional materials
  • Larger donations help us to finance our projects and professionalise our organisation, for example, to apply for funding and to receive more support in the areas of administration and communication.

Support OpenStreetMap directly

There are many ways to help OSM outside of the association:

  • Participate in the community and help update objects or verify data
  • Become a member of the OpenStreetmap Foundation (OSMF) and support the project globally
  • Donate directly to the OpenStreetMap Foundation to support global infrastructure and development
